L'Anse aux Meadows

Norse sagas had spoken of the Viking’s discovery for centuries, but whether it was merely myth had always been debated. Then archaeological discoveries, the first in 1968, proved Leif Erickson and crews of Norse explorers settled here in Newfoundland and Labrador (or Vinland as they called it) over 1,000 years ago.

L'Anse aux Meadows, on the tip of the Northern Peninsula, is a National Historic Site, as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is the only authenticated Norse site in North America.

In June, 2018 VG Photography Tours will be exploring the Viking Trail on the Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland. Our three-night stay in St. Anthony will put us within easy access of this historical site.

Please join us, June 16 – 29, 2018. Other photo opportunities on this tour

include Gros Morne National Park, Blow Me Down Provincial Park, Arches Provincial Park, Bottle Cove and two ‘on the water’ tours. Prices start at CAD $3,599 + tax for double occupancy. Call us for the full itinerary.,
